Thank you to Cameron Publishing for sending me a physical copy to review for this blog tour. Thank you to Random Things Tours for adding me to the blog tour. Please see below for the tour dates and other bloggers on this tour.
For non-blog tours I don’t like to give spoilers or too much away and I never show blurbs or bank of books. For a blog tour I feel it is only fair and my duty to share this, please scroll past this next bit if like myself you prefer not to read the blurb.
As a neurodivergent reader my reviews start off with sensory aspects. The cover is dark red with yellow text, silhouette planes along with various stars, stripes and the British flag. The image gives me Cold War vibes.
The cover is very smooth and the title has a different feel, a more silky smooth but it is not raised or embossed. The book feels heavier than a standard paper back of this many pages (353). The pages are soft and the text clear. The text fills the pages, the book reads at a fast pace. There is no information regarding the type setting.
There are some pages at the front with useful information regarding the various countries and characters as well as a map. I read many genres but this would not be one I’d normally go for.
I am so pleased I reached out of my comfort zone and into politics. I am very grateful I was able to join and be part of the blog tour for The Durian Pact. Thank you again to Random Things Tours.
The recent world events makes this book very now, and very topical. I found the narrative very believable, which is actually quite frightening, making this a brilliant political thriller.
The Durian Pact is a well researched novel and I am grateful for the author - a Westminster insider - to give us this wonderful insight into the Durian Pact itself.
Howarth uses his first hand experience very cleverly to bring us a thrilling read that is compulsive and that takes you right to the very heart of Westminster. I highly recommend this book especially if you feel you are ‘not into politics’.
Now is the time to read The Durian Pact. Out now.
