Boxing Day Book Bonanza in Bath

One of my favourite days of the year. Kid in a candy store moment or in this case a student with their December birthday and Yule book tokens/gift vouchers and the sales!

When your family feel you should get more bang for your buck on Boxing Day and they send you Waterstones gift cards for your December birthday & Yule and you happen to be;

•Norse Pagan (celebrate Yule not so much the 25th)

•Brought up with Jólabókaflóðið (Dec 24th)

•autistic & 3 of your 5 children are also on the spectrum (books are our thing) •various disabilities (books help)

•t1 diabetic so books instead of lots of food/sweet treats (however vegan milk less chocolate is great)

•full time English Degree student so on top of todays Waterstones sale I also receive student discount and loyalty points. Some folks may find similar prices online which for books I personally tend to stay clear of as 3 reasons as follows;

• I like to support physical shops.

• I like to spend ages selecting my perfect copy of any title (no imperfections)

• Loyalty points in physical store, I know some online do support this too

• Student discount even on sale and non book items.

• I love the visual of being in an actual bookstore.

• love the coming away with my precious like Gollum.

I was of course gifted some other book related gifts for Yule. Sadly I received a dodgy Temu book mug (many of you have also received & shown) which the gift giver is going back to Temu as mine isn’t good.

I am happy to share and recommend other literary theme gifts as an autistic my friends & family do share where they bought from so I can share with other book lovers as it’s just a ‘thing’.

Thank you wonderful husband for doing the very safe carrying back to the car and being my emotional support in the bookshop and always (I suffer with anxiety in public places).
